Tendering

Bemacash supports single and multiple tendering for the order; cash, credit card and store credit.

Debit Card and EBT will only be available when PAX pin pad is configured on the system.

Cash Transaction

Press the “Pay” button and then select “Cash”. On the left, it will auto fill the remaining balance into the highlighted area.

When you hit ‘Cash’ without entering the amount given by the customer, it will assume it was paid with exact change.

You can optionally have the sales receipt printed or emailed by checking the respective options on the final dialog before tapping on the “Finish” button.

Credit Card Transaction

Press the “Pay” button and then select “Credit Card”.

The application will prompt you to swipe the card on the PAX Terminal.

Once the transaction is approved, the dialog box with the option to print and/or email the receipt will appear.

If you select “Signature Receipt”, the application will print the merchant’s copy of the credit card receipt for the customer to sign.

Gift Card Transaction

Press the “Pay” button and then select “Gift Card”.

The application will prompt you to swipe the card on the PAX Terminal.

Once the transaction is approved, the dialog box with the option to print and/or email the receipt will appear.

Store Credit Transaction

This tender option will be available if the store has been set up to process returns with Store Credit only (check topic ‘Store Settings’). In this case, the application will refund all returns with a store credit receipt. The customer can use their store credit for future purchases.

After selecting the option “Receipt”, the cashier will be prompted to key-in the credit receipt number (if a barcode scanner is enabled, the cashier can scan the barcode on the bottom of the receipt).

After pressing OK, the screen below will show information about how much credit was used and the balance for the credit receipt that will be issued (if any change).

Press OK to confirm and finalize the transaction.

Use multiple tendering (procedure described on the next topic) to apply a credit receipt when the due amount is larger than the credit balance.

Working with Store Credit

You can access the history of issued credit receipts from the dashboard by tapping on the highlighted icon, shown below, from the top toolbar.

The cashier will initially perform a Return for the customer and the button above will be available if the store credit feature is enabled in the back office. (check topic ‘Returns – processing customer refunds’ for more details).

After selecting the order and the quantity of items to be returned, the cashier will tap on the Return button and the dialog box below will pop-up. Since the store is configured to process returns by “Store Credit” only, the cashier’s only option is the “Receipt” button that, once tapped, will print a physical receipt for the customer. This receipt should be signed by the merchant as proof of authenticity.

Once a credit receipt is used, it will be grayed out on the “Credit Receipt History”.

You can also run a ‘credit receipt’ report to see the amount of credit you currently have outstanding to better manage your liability.

Emailing Receipts

To email the receipt to a customer, you need to select the option “Email Receipt” on the last dialog of the tendering operation. After tapping on the “Finish” button, the dialog box below will appear.

You can key in the customer name to search for customers already registered on the database or you can add a new customer on-the-fly, by tapping on the highlighted icon below.

Fill in the customer information (Mandatory Fields: Name, Email and Gender) and press “Save”.

Receipt will be sent to the customer with the layout below.
